My Beauty Box Experience: Birchbox June 2017

New month means a new beauty box! I’ve already received my Birchbox a few weeks ago. I know, it took me a long time to make this post. A surprise is instead of getting a box, I got a bag! Anyways, I’m not going to hold you longer with my excuses and rants.

The price of Birchbox is £12.95/monthly. They also offer discounted rates if you go for a plan of 3 ,6 or 12 months. But if you’re a new customer, you can get offers or discounts on your first box.

Inside the Box

I received the usual pink box which was delivered by Hermes. And surprise, surprise, I got a bag inside!

1. MeechNMia Brow Liner #023 (RRP £12.99*)
A brow pencil in dark brown color. It is made from a cruelty-free formula which is a plus to some people.

Just the right time to receive this as my Revlon eyebrow pencil is going to run out anytime soon!

2. Arrow ENHANCE Waterproof Eyeliner in Bright Now (RRP £12*)
This is a nude-color eyeliner that instantly brightens tired eyes and accentuates the eye color. It will surely last all day as it is waterproof. Again, another cruelty-free and no parabens product.

I’m not sure if I will ever use this. But this might be handy next time.

3. This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle (RRP £37*)
This product is a tinted multi-vitamin serum. It helps to even the skin tone and cover imperfections.

Not sure if I will ever use this.

4. Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream (RRP £46*)
This eye cream will quickly brighten and smooth tired eyes. Also, a good base before applying concealer.

I will definitely try this as a base (if it works) for eye make-up.

5. Scrub Love Coffee Body Scrub (RRP £11.95*)
This product is made from 100% natural ingredients. The brochure states “This exfoliator delivers more of an energy boost than your morning coffee”.

I’ve tried a Scrub Love (Aloe Vera) from Glossybox, and I loved it! And I’m quite sure I will love this one from Birchbox.

* RRPs correspond to full-size items.

My Thoughts

I love the concept of Birchbag! I can re-use it as an organizer bag or put in some bits and bobs. However, the only full-size item I got was MeechNMia brow liner. The rest were in small sizes. To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed for the June issue. With what? The size. And I know Birchbox can do better than that. I think the £12.95 fee is not worth it this time.

The products included were alright. But most of them were skin care that I don’t consider as essentials. I know Birchbox team can improve this.

Am I purchasing the July box? Honestly, no. I’ve already cancelled my subscription and will be moving on.
