It’s New Year and Still Winter!

I’m officially living in the UK for a year now! I arrived in England last year January and now it’s just a few days before February! I still can’t believe so much things have happened to me in just one year. I can still clearly remember that first time I arrived, the cold weather. Ah, time flies.

I entered the UK on a fiance visa, got married, applied for FLR (M), applied for a NI (National Insurance) number then landed on a job. That’s right, I’m working in the UK and got lucky to be hired in an office job I like!

To be honest, I never imagined I will be hired by an international company. Maybe I’m just underestimating myself before because most Filipinos I know are working as a nurse or a home carer. There is nothing wrong with these jobs, it’s decent and earn good money. So I thought I will end up as a home carer as well. But thanks to my husband’s support and encouragement, he pushed me to apply for the jobs that I never thought I will get.

Let’s start chasing what we wanted to do in life and get out of the stereotype.I realised anything is possible wherever you go as long as you’re determined and you know what you wanted to do in life. It may be hard at first, but trust me, it will get better in time.

I hope this new year will bring us prosperity and good health. May we keep on dreaming and achieve our goals in life!
