Visa Journey: Applying for a UK Visit Visa in the Philippines (Part 1)

My family has recently visited me here in England, my brother and father flew all the way from the Philippines (that was nearly a full day of travel!). My sister and niece also joined us after a few days. It was a short but sweet reunion.

They were meant to travel December last year. However, they decided to reschedule and fly on spring time instead. I reckon that was for the best. The moment they landed; they were moaning about the cold weather. Hey, it’s spring! It’s meant to be milder.

Just a piece of advice, please take the season into account when deciding the best time to visit England. There is a big difference between UK and Philippine weather.

Please see below the overview of the process when applying for a UK visit visa (Philippines).

1. Fill up the online form via UK.GOV. If you need further information, please visit the official website.

2. Compile all necessary documents. Please take note all documents my brother and father submitted were not returned. If you’re going to provide important documents such as house title, please only submit a copy of it. But as for the bank statement, please provide the original document.

3. Once online form has been completed, please submit and proceed to payment.

4. Book an appointment. This is for the submission of documents and biometrics.

5. On the day of appointment in VFS*, bring and submit all documents. Fingerprints and photo will be taken during biometrics.

6. Wait for the decision. They received their results within 15 working days.
