My Beauty Box Experience: My Little Box June 2017

There are a lot of subscription boxes circulating in the market here in the UK. I’ve already tried Birchbox and Glossybox. I will be making a separate post comparing these boxes.

After I’ve got lots of cosmetics and skincare products, I thought to switch and try other boxes. This time it’s My Little Box. This subscription box is quite intriguing because of their taglineCoveted beauty and lifestyle picks from Paris to your door”. According to their website:

Created in Paris, My Little Box brings a monthly selection of French-inspired fashion, beauty, and lifestyle picks right to your door. With a surprise theme every month, each box promises to bring a touch of Parisian chic to the lucky recipient – be it you or a friend.

Basically, this box doesn’t focus mainly on cosmetics. They also include lifestyle accessories depending on their theme.

The Box

My Little Box was delivered via Royal Mail. The price of each box monthly is £14.95, the shipping fee is already included. The company don’t offer plans, so the price is fixed. For my June Box, I ordered last June 21 and received it on July 4. That took 2 weeks for me to receive it. But the waiting game was all worth it.

I received the parcel in a plain brown cardboard box. The outer box is sturdy enough to protect the main box.

I opened the box and saw the pretty print of the cover. My Little Box has different themes every month and the items inside will depend on it.

This month’s theme is Los Angeles with a complete map guide of L.A.

All of the items were carefully wrapped with this white ribbon.

Inside the Box

1. Tote Bag
I like the design and very convenient as a shop bag. Unfortunately, it has no zipper. I would discourage storing valuable items inside unless you keep on carrying this with you.

2. Fluffy Stickers
I’m not an avid fan of stickers but this might come in handy in the future.

3. Beauty Bag
A loot bag of hair and skin care products.

3.1 Coco Sunrise Body & hair oil (75 mL)
A 99.8% natural, vegan blend of coconut oil, passion fruit, and achiote seed extract. It really smells nice.

3.2 Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream (20 g)
A 99.9% natural cleanser which not only removes dirt and excess oil but also make-up. I love natural products, so I found this a good deal.

3.3 Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula (50 mL)
A body lotion with no parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten, sulfates and dyes. What a show-off, eh?! Seriously, I’m loving it! The smell is really good!

4. Pom Pom Bracelet
According to the note of the package, this bracelet is inspired by the cotton-candy colors of a California sunset and each of the charms represents a wish: love, health, happiness (or just to compliment the fab taste of the wearer). I think this accessory is excellent for a casual look.

My Thoughts

The delivery of the box took a long time in comparison to Glossybox and Birchbox. BUT it’s all worth it! I love most of the items I’ve received.

The sticker is alright, not really amazed with it. The tote bag has a really nice print and I’ve already used it a few times just going out to nearby places. It’s very convenient for me. I also like the pom pom bracelet, the colors compliment each other. The skin and hair products has also earned some brownie points from me. They are natural which is really good for the skin. And what I love the most? The box! It has a really nice print.

If you are tired of receiving cosmetics and skin care products, I would recommend you to switch to My Little Box. It has nice stuffs which you can re-use over and over again.

Will I go for the July box? Definitely! I already have it and will post in the next few days.
