Postcard Series: Malacca, Malaysia

Travelling to different places have opened my eyes to various cultures and traditions. The experiences I gained is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.

One of my favourite places so far is Malacca (also spelled as Melaka) in Malaysia. It’s a historical state with a lot of ancient landmarks and colonial structures all over the area. If you like historical places, then add this on your list!

Travelling to Malacca from Singapore was a memorable experience, and a funny one at that. It was supposed to be a 3-4 hours travel to Malacca, but it took over 8 hours to reach our destination. During the stopover, the driver disappeared all of a sudden. We called the travel company and told us a replacement driver is on his way. We waited for hours, then a young Singaporean couple stepped in.

To cut the story short, the guy decided to drive the bus since we’ve been waiting for hours and it’s really late at night. He dropped everyone to our respective hotels. At that time, I was afraid it may be a scam or something similar. Thankfully, it’s not. But anyway, I was very thankful to that young couple and if ever they stumble on this blog and recognise the story, I’d like to say ‘Thank you, both of you were amazing. You don’t have to do it, but you stepped in and helped.’

Below are some photos of the trip.
