Happy New Year 2024!

It’s been a few months since I last posted anything on my blog. Life has been busy, and I had no motivation to post regularly. I’m glad my blog still got good traffic, and my posts being read. I hope my blog has been useful to your visa journey or life in the UK in general.

Every beginning of the year, I review my past goals and set new goals. I managed to complete a few goals last year which I’m proud of. And this year, I’m refocussing my goals on the financial aspect of my life. My new goals are a bit ambitious but I set them in stages. For example, I have a goal of saving £XXX, the next goal is saving £X,XXX. This way, I won’t feel overwhelmed saving a big chunk of money. I want to take the saving journey in small steps to achieve the big goal at the end of the year.

Another major goal I l have is to be physically fit. When I arrived in the UK in 2017, I was in a healthy weight range. However, I slowly gained weight over the years due to my sedentary lifestyle and cold weather which discourages me to go out as often as I should. Again, I set them in stages to keep my motivation.

Setting goals have been part of my life since I graduated from university. The main purpose why I was setting goals is to improve myself on areas I think I should be working on or on areas I have big plans. I believe we should not stop growing and improving ourselves.

The photo on this blog post was my Christmas tree which I loved! We updated our living room and it was exactly what I wanted it to be. It was part of my goal list for a few years as updating the house (all rooms!) require money so it took some time to complete. This shows how setting goals is important so we can focus on what matters and what we wanted to achieve.

What are your goals for this year? How do you set your goals?

Cheers to a happy new year 2024! xx
