To celebrate my birthday this year, we decided to travel to Paris, France! This city is one of the top places I want to visit in my lifetime. It felt surreal to see the Eiffel Tower in person and get on the top!
We purchased a city break package via EasyJet. There were so many hotels to choose from and the 4 star hotels prices are affordable. Their website has a lot of deals for a wide range of countries and cities. If you are looking to travel in Europe, I recommend EasyJet! Take note, it is also important to get a travel insurance to ensure you are protected whilst traveling.
Since I hold a British passport, I no longer need to apply for a Schengen visa. However, if you still hold a Philippine passport, you will need to secure a Schengen visa.
Uber operates worldwide. We used it when we arrived at the airport to get to our hotel. I strongly advise to either use the official airport taxi or ordering a taxi via the Uber app. Uber is quite useful to use when you don’t have enough cash with you since you can pay through your card.
What to do in Paris?
Get on the Bus Tour.
We went on the Big Bus tour and paid for the 24-Hour ticket. We also paid for an add-on to get on the river cruise. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay longer in Paris to get to do everything we wanted.
You can have an unlimited ride within the timeframe shown on the ticket. We thought it’s a good deal because the bus stops are situated near popular attractions.
Due to an unexpected extension of our trip, we were considering to get another 24-Hour ticket. But the helpful staff told us we can ‘extend’ our ticket and pay only a portion of the price. Make sure you keep your receipt so you can avail the ‘ticket extension’.
Go to the Eiffel Tower.
A few days before our holiday, I was looking at the booking website. However, I didn’t manage to book because the tickets online were sold out.
When we arrived at the hotel, there were tours offered for a price. The lovely receptionist managed to book us a ticket to the Eiffel Tower, but that also came with a hefty price.
During the tour, we had a guide who patiently explained the history of the tower. We got to the 2nd level of the tower via the lift. You have the option to climb it via the stairs, but ensure you are active enough to last to get to the top and not get stuck. Our ticket allowed us to get to the top level but the queue was too long so we decided not to go. Overall, it was a fantastic experience to see and go up the Eiffel Tower!

Visit Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum was massive. You will need to spend months to see all artifacts, paintings and statues. We only have a limited time so when we arrived at the museum, we immediately headed to Mona Lisa.
It was crowded but you can still try and squeeze to get to the front. If you still have time, you can enjoy looking at the other paintings and savour the moment.

Eat!
Paris is home to a great selection of food and pastries! One of my favourites is the macaron — they’re absolutely delicious!
Whatever you do, don’t leave Paris without tasting the crème brûlée — it’s a must!
