New year can be a new start of anything. Apart from setting goals this year, I will be dedicating myself to building tiny habits that hopefully will develop into long-term habits which could have a positive impact to my life.
Below are my 5 tiny habits I will start doing this year:
- Connect to someone everyday. Connecting to people may be in any form of communication. It could be messaging someone everyday and the engagement should not be related to work.
- Make something that makes you happy. Anything that sparks joy. It could be eating out to a favourite restaurant, reading a book, or watching a TV series. It is literally anything that I think makes me feel calm, at peace and happy.
- Keep a minimalist lifestyle this year. I commit myself to a minimalist lifestyle this 2025. One of the things that will feed into this is to organise a ‘No Buy’ list for this year. This will ensure that I don’t end up with oversupply of products. I used to splurge on a lot of things and sometimes end up not appreciating what I have. Hopefully, this will make me appreciate everything, big or small, and enjoy the experience.
- Go for a walk outside atleast once a week. It’s all about making sure I get out of the house atleast once a week. It could be going for a shopping, meeting friends, going for a nice walk in the woods, etc. Go out and enjoy the moment of doing it.
- Finish 1 book every month. I love reading, and this is usually the time I feel calm and happy. Reading enhances vocabulary and knowledge which makes it a win-win habit. Sometimes, I go on for months not reading a book. Hopefully, this will motivate me to consistently keep doing it.
The above tiny habits are a good start to become a better version of myself. What tiny habits have you been doing that made you happier?
