Maragusan Escapade: Kanlawig Hot Spring Resort

Part 2 of the Maragusan Escapade

One of the reasons why we went to Maragusan, Compostella Valley was to see and dip into the different natural springs in the area. Unfortunately, we missed the Aguakan Cold Spring. We only managed to visit Kanlawig Hot Spring. This hot spring resort is just about 10 minutes (more or less, depends on the traffic/speed) away from Haven’s Peak Resort.

Here is a sample google map to give you an idea of the resort’s location.

If you’re coming from Haven’s Peak, be sure too look for this sign (see image below) on your right side. It’s not that hard to look for as this is just along the road. It is easy to notice this place as there will be cars, pedicabs and habal-habal vehicles nearby. We were lucky to get a free ride from our newfound friends who were also guests of Haven’s Peak. So, we saved some money!

The Resort

When we got to the resort, there were a lot of people. The entrance fee we paid was 40php/person.

Inside the resort, there were a lot of trees around. I can barely see a mountain due to the heavy volume of clouds. Also, there were plenty of open cottages where you can sit and/or leave your things. Shower and toilet rooms were located on the other side of the resort.

The pool wasn’t that deep. I guess it’s between 3-4 feet and kids were really enjoying it. I noticed that time that only one part of the pool is hot. Maybe this could be because of the number of people in the pool.

The hot water was quite relaxing. It was a really nice experience. This hot spring resort in Mindanao is worth visiting. If you’re visiting Haven’s Peak Highland Resort, don’t forget to drop by this hidden gem.
