My Beauty Box Experience: Glossybox May 2017

There is a big difference between the skincare/cosmetic products in the UK and the Philippines. It took me a while to decide which one to try as I’m not familiar with some of the brand names.

Beauty boxes gave me the chance to try a lot of UK products in one box for a very affordable price. After I ordered Birchbox, I decided to try Glossybox because they have a promo of £5 for their May box. So, instead of paying £13.25 (including delivery fee of £3.25), I just paid £8.25. For a cheap price, I received 5 full-size skincare and cosmetic products.

The Box

I ordered my first Glossybox on a Sunday afternoon and I received it on a Wednesday via Royal Mail. When I first saw the outer box, I thought it’s gorgeous! It has a very nice packaging. The main box is pink with nice prints on the interior. When I opened it, I found a welcome note and a brochure of tips and information of the products. The products were carefully wrapped with a pink paper and a back ribbon.

Inside the Box

The products I’ve received are all in full-size! Here is the list of items inside my Glossybox May 2017 box:

1. Unani Illuminate Milk Cleanser (RRP £14)

This product is a gentle cleansing milk based on natural oils. This can also be used to remove makeup.

I badly need this as I ran out of makeup remover! Good value on this one.

2. Scrub Love Active Charcoal Body Scrub (RRP £13.95)
This product is a charcoal-based, 100% natural, vegan and vegetarian-friendly body exfoliator! That sounds good.

3. Dr. PAWPAW Original Balm (RRP £6.95)
This product is a multipurpose balm that nourishes and soothes the skin. It can also be used to smooth unruly brows which I sometimes need!

4. Sleek Makeup Eye & Cheek Palette (RRP £10)
This product is in a slim-line palette and contains essential colors which is very handy. I already have too much sets of palette, so I guess I don’t really need this. But if I need a smaller version, this will be useful.

5. Ruby Powder Blush in Coral (RRP €14.99)
The color is perfect for summer. Unfortunately, I don’t use blush.

GlossyBox Brochure

Like Birchbox, Glossybox has also included a brochure for the subscriber’s reference about the products. It is informative and the RRPs are also stated which gives an idea how much the actual item costs. When I calculated the cost of all products, it has a total of £55.37. I only paid £8.25, see how much I saved!

My Thoughts

My first Glossybox contained more skincare products rather than cosmetics. I liked it as I already have loads of makeup and it’s just the same thing. As for the blush and eye palette, I don’t really need it. Nevertheless, I like Glossybox because they provided full-size products at a bargain price of £8.25! The pink box is really nice (sturdy and good quality!) which I can re-use as a container of bits and bobs.Shall I buy the June box? If the box will contain items that I need, I might buy it. As for now, I’m thinking to venture to a different box. Stay tuned!
