I regularly promote Filipino products found here in the UK as some of our kababayans may find it useful especially to those who miss Filipino foods.
I recently ordered some goodies from Ellie’s. The owner is a Filipina based in Preston, Lancashire. I messaged their official Facebook page to make an order, then I paid via bank transfer. The transaction was smooth and quick.
Please take note orders are on a scheduled basis. So if you’ve made your order ahead of the next schedule, you might need to wait.
I ordered Gourmet Tuyo and Choco Butternut Munchkin. She also sells other products such as cakes, crinkles and Ube cheese mamon but I decided to try these first.
First to be reviewed is the Choco Butternut Munchkin. I can’t remember how many were in the container, but if I’m not mistaken there were more than 10 pieces. The consistency is good and doesn’t easily crumble. I like the coconut coating and even if it’s a chocolate munchkin, it’s not too sweet. It’s perfect to pair with tea (milk + breakfast tea). Unfortunately, I’ve not tried the Dunkin Donuts Choco Butternut Munchkins so I can’t really compare.
The next food to be reviewed is the Gourmet Tuyo. I like the packaging which is a transparent jar with a black lid and a black label — very minimalist! If I’m not mistaken, there were 7 dried fish inside. I love the combination of sliced carrots and cucumber, it enhances the flavour when you eat it along with the dried fish. One jar lasted me three meals (please don’t judge me with this).
